The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has an established accreditation system that sets professional standards for high-quality programs for young children. NAEYC is focused on improving the well-being of young children. They put particular emphasis on the quality of educational and developmental services for children from birth through age eight.

Our Infant/Toddler program utilizes certified staff and The Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers. Our environment is safe, nurturing, and loving while maximizing stimulation and learning opportunities to encourage brain development and social interactions.

Fayette County Pre-K

Duration Varies · Free for the 4-year-old resident of Fayette County
A collaborative public school pre k program operated through a partnership with the Fayette County Board of Education. The Pre K program utilizes certified teachers and a West Virginia state-approved curriculum. Our center is accredited by NAEYC. Our instructional program follows and assesses according to WV Early Learning Standards.

Drop-In Childcare

We welcome out-of-town guests visiting our community for local outdoor adventures. We also can assist families with backup care for unexpected needs. Call for availability and reservations.

Big Kids School Day Plus Program

Ages 5 to 12 years. Before and after school care including age-appropriate learning opportunities emphasizing STEAM experiences. School-age programming includes homework assistance, nutritious snacks, and meals, peer socialization, outdoor Natural Learning Environment including gardening, nature exploration, and physical fitness opportunities. Transportation is available to and from local schools.

Learning Environment

  • Nutritional meals and snacks, keeping in mind that good nutrition improves both physical and mental performance.
  • Creative Curriculum learning environment.
  • Supervised rest and/or nap periods.
  • A reasonable routine for meals, snacks, sleep, and indoor/outdoor play.
  • Indoor and outdoor activities to allow for large and small muscle development of the individual child.
  • A balance of quiet and active group and individual activities.
  • Opportunity for self-expression in conversation, imaginative play, and creativity.
  • Occasional field trips to places of interest in the community.
  • Respect for each child as an individual, allowing the choice of activities and interests.
  • A variety of social activities. (Grouping shall take into account the child’s level of maturity.)
  • Opportunities for mixed-age experiences and interactions with the child’s age group.
  • Field trips for preschool and summer camp programs/transportation provided.
  • After-school services/transportation provided.
